Behavioral Assistant (BA) – Independent Contractor
Join the ThrivePath Team ThrivePath Mental Health Services is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Behavioral Assistants (BAs) to provide community-based behavioral health support services to children, adolescents, and families throughout New Jersey. This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families. Position Summary The Behavioral Assistant (BA) works as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide individualized behavioral interventions and skill-building services to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Services are primarily delivered in the home, school, and community settings. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavioral interventions and treatment plans. Provide skill-building and behavioral support services to youth and families. Assist clients in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and appropriate behaviors. Collaborate with caregivers, treatment providers, schools, and community supports. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided. Participate in clinical supervision and team meetings as required. Adhere to all agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards. Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field; or Bachelor’s degree in another field with relevant experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs. Preferred: Experience working with children and adolescents. Knowledge of behavioral interventions and mental health services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a treatment team. Requirements Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned service areas. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Ability to pass all required background screenings. Computer and internet access for documentation and communication.
